To block dangerous extensions and pages, and are some of the amazing features presented by Fire Shield for Chrome. By simply looking at the said function, this tool looks useful. However, it revealed that this browser extension is classified as a potentially unwanted program (PUP). This dubious code can directly enter the computer through misleading techniques and, most importantly, via pop-up ads when visiting suspicious websites.
Installation of Fire Shield for Chrome
It appears that Fire Shield is commonly integrated with third-party applications such as freeware or shareware. Most online fraudsters adopt this scheme to distribute adware programs. Through this method, PC users may hardly notice that there is an additional program installed aside from their desired application. Some users mistakenly deem that it is a form of computer virus due to this behavior.
As shown in the image below, several malicious websites are displaying aggressive pop-up advertisements to promote Fire Shield as a useful extension that secures web users online browsing. Hence, it needs to modify the settings of web search, which is quite questionable.
Fire Shield may associate your browser and computer with other unknown programs. Its presence enables you to modify the browser home page and default search settings. Both may be set to the Search.onfireshield.com URL as the new default settings. Furthermore, Fire Shield may render online advertisements all through your internet surfing sessions that could be annoying at times.
Risks to online privacy and security
We have to remind you that the sole purpose of an ad-supported program is to generate advertising revenue. Thus, when an adware program is attacking your computer, expect a massive display of unwanted, annoying, and dubious ads, including pop-ups and redirects. In addition, adware can track your online browsing experience and record crucial information like visited websites, geographical location, ISP, search keywords, and so on.
To discontinue all unwanted functions on the internet browser and to bring back the normal performance of a computer, you have to remove Fire Shield adware. Make sure to eliminate all unknown applications, suspicious files, and other items linked to this potentially unwanted program. For the complete removal of Fire Shield, you may use the steps included on this page.

"C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe"
- The installation folder may vary depending on the Windows version or installation setup.
