  1. I have had Malwarebytes on my computer off an on for quite a while. It is my saving grace when I think I’ve gotten into trouble and let something in that shouldn’t be there. I have a bug now that I put there myself and I can’t get rid of it. Several places I looked at, all of them a little dated, say that Malwarebytes will detect System Mechanics. I ran the free version and got the premium, hoping that this would work. It didn’t and you know that. It did find several Chrome add-ons and a bad download, so I am happy. Can you help me and tell me where to go to get help to remove System Mechanic?

  2. The way to uninstall System Mechanic Ultimate Defense is to first disable the antivirus component and then to uninstall the program using the Add/Remove feature of the control panel. Also make sure that all running processes of System Mechanic are stopped before uninstalling.

Similarly, when uninstalling firewalls, you have to disable all the components of the firewall before uninstalling it, otherwise you’re left with a leftover piece of the firewall blocking your internet.
