  1. I’m trying to remove mac mechanic and I am currently on step 2 the only problem is that I can’t find advanced mac mechanic in the process name column. I have even tried searching it up. Do you think it might be on there with different name, why isn’t it showing up?

  2. I have the same problem as Yatziri’s. And I found that actually we have to open the Advanced Mac Tuneup instead of closing it as you said and then we are able to find it in under the name part.

  3. @Yatziri – If you aren’t seeing the process during Step 2, the Advanced Mac Tuneup program may not be actively running. Don’t worry about it. Perform all other steps. If you do see the Advanced Mac Tuneup software running in the future, repeat the steps on this page to ensure it has been removed.

  4. “Advanced Mac Tuneup” has morphed into a newer version. The file “amtuhlpr” is now “amt.help” (or something like that). The bottom line is that I tried to follow the script, including moving the app to Trash and emptying it. After a reboot, it was back again in full force.

Please update the script above to accommodate the newer version of Tuneup.
