Remove Rezuc Ransomware (.rezuc Decryption)

Rezuc ransomware is a file-locking virus where attackers threaten victims that files will be rendered useless if they do not pay the ransom money. Coming from Stop/Djvu clan, this malware typically spreads on the internet via spam email messages pretending to be from reliable contacts and prominent organizations. Rezuc utilizes worm that is capable of attacking the email system on infected computer and send a copy of the malware on located contact address. Users may also acquire the virus from hacked websites, malicious advertising campaigns, and bogus software updates.

If executed, Rezuc virus will integrate random malicious files on the infected computer, each with unique objective. Initially, this virus deactivates local security application like anti-virus and anti-malware program to avoid detection. It can also block access to specific security websites and anti-virus vendors by modifying Windows Hosts File to prevent victims from downloading removal tools and Rezuc decryption software, if there are available.

The main infection stage on Rezuc virus attack is decrypting target files on the computer using complex algorithm and assigning a unique encryption keys for each victims. It also appends the infected files with .rezuc extension that eliminates its association with valid programs. Having .rezuc at the end of the file extension, no other application will be able to open it, thus, it becomes useless and renders useless and inoperable.

To restore the infected files and remove the encryption, attackers are leaving a ransom note on each folder of infected files. The notes contain instructions, contact address, and payment amount in order for victims to obtain unique keys and decryption software. Here is an excerpt from a ransom note, which is very similar to previous variants:

However, there is a little chance of recovering files using this tool due to limited available offline keys that were integrated with this decryption tool.
