Remove Big-countries.com Redirect

Big-countries.com pop-up ads and redirects may appear on the browser if adware is residing on the computer. This is considered an adware attack because the add-on that is injected into the browser was purposely made to deliver ads on the PC. Ads shown by Big-countries.com may vary from simple endorsements to fake program updates that entice users to download and install a program. Once this is accomplished, other adware will get installed on the computer, and it starts to mess up browsers like Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Safari.

Getting redirected to Big-countries.com, including occasional pop-ups, is caused by other malicious browser plug-ins, extensions, or add-ons. Although there is no direct data that links this malicious site to adware, reports from computer users state that Big-countries.com redirection and pop-ups started to appear after installing a harmful browser add-on. Removing installed plug-ins will also not stop the pop-ups and redirects committed by Big-countries.com. You also need to delete any risky files it has dropped inside the system and various folders.

  1. Tried all this and still getting the new tabs opening.
Downloading Comodo Antimalware to see if that works.

  2. I have tried all of these things, and big-countries.com has removed, but now I am getting a web pop-up which is rich-countries.com. How do I remove this?

  3. I’ve solved the issue! Follow these step:
    1. open control panel / programs and look for Mediavideoplayer and uninstall it. If you don’t have that, just click the installed on tab at the top and look for any suspicious programs installed on the day the issues started occurring.
    2. Open up Task Manager, go to Processes and end winsys.exe (that is what the malware is called, don’t let it fool you it is not legit.)
    3. The search your program files in your main hard drive for Mediavideoplayer or whatever the program you uninstalled was called and delete everything/empty the trash.
    That should fix it :)

  4. Think I have found it! I’ve done everything that this web site has said and found some other web sites that say the same thing which is great but it didn’t work, it keep popping up and almost drove me insane but I was looking around in program files (86) and notice that there was a folder that I never downloaded call Video Media Player which has a media player app in it (that I have never seen) that works too call EVP easy video player but it also has files in there that links it to Winsys so being suspicious of it I used Revo uninstall to get rid of it but had to reboot the PC in order to completely remove all the files because most of the Winsys files were running with winsys.exe, after the reboot and the rest removed I haven’t had a problem, not one pop-up from big countries or his mates thank f!$k. Really hope this has helped whoever had the same problem but don’t just try this first maybe do what they have said above to make sure it is completely removed. Danny M 3/07/2014
